Tujia brocade

　　Another name is "Xilan Kapp", which was listed as tributes in Qin and Han Dynasty. It is celebrated for exquisite workmanship, vivid modeling, rich and plain local style and intense national characteristic. Tujia brocade has a popular name as "Xilan Kapp". So-called "Xilan" is the quilt cover; So-called "Kapp", is the flower, connect the two, is "the quilt cover with flowers". This traditional handicraft used to self-make and self-use in the past, namely from planting cotton to reeling thread, from woving cotton cloth to embroidering all by Tujia nationality people, which was rarely known in the nation, say nothing of praised the world. From the 50's to the beginning of the 80's, it gradually went out West Hunan, moved towards China and the world. The Tujia brocade making by Wulingyuan, has become good in great demand of large quantities of tourists, part of it was bought and treasured up by guests from Hongkong, Macao, Taiwan and other countries. The artistic feature of Tujia brocade, is to lay stress on show and creation, what wonderful is being an excellent likeness. The color is bright and jumpy, with strong contrast, symmetrical lines, and it is durable, is a handicraft treasure for using and appreciating of tourists.
