Chinese chestnut, sharp chestnut

　　The Chinese chestnut and sharp chestnut (common name as "Xuanli"), belongs to the beech family, is the xylophyta, the main contents are starch, sugar and so on, widely dispersed in various scenic areas of Wulingyuan. They are perennial deciduous trees, commonly 3 or 5 meters to 10 meters high. The chestnut tree blossoms at the end of spring or the beginning of summer, grows in summer, fructifies in autumn. The fruit is spheroidal, with external belt thorn covering, the inner chestnut is smooth with purple color, and therefore there is the riddle of "the mother wears garments with thousand needles, the son puts on purple imperial robe". Once Chinese chestnut matured, the outer covering will naturally open, and the chestnut fall off with wind. After "White Dew", massive Chinese chestnut become mature, all chestnut balls open their smiling mouth, chestnuts would fall off with clatter noise, and roll into in ravine or low-lying places as soon as autumn wind blowing, you might pick many Chinese chestnuts if lucky, sometimes might pick several dozens kg a day.
